Paid Sick Leave Update

Legislation requiring all employers, regardless of size, to offer paid sick leave benefits to all full-time and part-time employees up to a maximum of 40 hours per year has been signed into law by Governor Murphy. The law becomes effective on October 29, 2018. The Commissioner of Labor will be providing guidance to all NJ employers. However, the NJDA will continue to update you on the compliance rules associated with this law for business owners as well as the rights employees receive as more information becomes available.
