Lunch Sessions: "Ethics for Dental Professionals"

Course Description:
"Ethics for Dentists" is designed to satisfy the ethics component of continuing education for dentists. However, the course goes further by covering current issues in dental law, regulation and guidelines based on current adverse actions levied against dental professionals in civil, criminal and administrative forums. The course focuses upon basic principles of ethical conduct pursuant to the ADA's Code of Conduct, with additional instruction of laws and regulations of the New Jersey Board of Dentistry and vital information about adverse action reporting, third party payer audits and the National Practitioner Data Bank. The course is primarily designed for risk prevention and compliance in an evolving legal landscape.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the Vital Importance of Professional Ethics
  • Familiarity with the Nj Board of Dentistry: It's function, powers and laws
  • Familiarity with Third Party Payer Issues
  • Understanding the function and scope of the National Practitioner Data Bank
