Course Description:
The opioid epidemic has resulted in confusion in managing dental pain. How do you manage a dental pain in a patient not able to take NSAIDs? Come and learn about current opinions and strategies for dental pain management. Rationales for current therapies as well as reasons certain medications are no longer recommended will be discussed. Learn about alternatives to opioids (not just acetaminophen and ibuprofen) and prescribing tips and tricks!

- Learn the rationale for multiple modal drug therapy
- Learn about alternative medications for pain management to limit the use of opioids
- Learn strategies for patients unable to take NSAIDS and acetaminophen
- Recognize signs of inappropriate opioid use (addiction and diversion)
